New Mexico

We traveled to New Mexico for a work conference Ashley was attending. Grandma and Grandpa Brooks picked us up at the airport and we went straight to Old Town Albuquerque for lunch. The first thing we saw was a performance of Native American singing and dancing in the town plaza.

After lunch we went on a walk to see petroglyphs and then took a tram ride to the top of the Sandia Mountain. Look how high up we were!

The next day we travelled to Taos, stopping to see a couple pueblos along the way. The main Taos pueblo was closed but we saw the often photographed San Francisco de Asis church.  IMG_6027IMG_6016DSCN9450IMG_6057
In Santa Fe we went to the Georgia O’Keeffe museum, the International Folk Art Museum, visited three churches, and did some shopping. Everywhere we went Louis did a lot of running around.

While Ashley was at the conference, the rest of the family went to Bandelier National Monument where they hiked to ruins of pueblos built into the cliffs. The way the rock is eroding makes it look like swiss cheese.

  1. Amazing pictures. Louis just gets cuter and cuter. Mom and Dad look great and so do you and Matt. Also - I think I would love to live in Santa Fe.

  3. I looked at these forever ago when dad emailed about the trip. I just wanted to say thank you for blogging about it because it's fun getting a glimpse of what you're up to. Also I enjoyed your poster and think it's fantastic that you won. :)
