Louis and Alice

This super cute picture of Alice and Louis was taken by Lindsey (and also posted on her blog). These babies look like they are the exact same age even though Louis is about seven weeks older.

Below are a couple pictures of Louis and Alice facing off in the jungle play gym. Norah joined in on the scene and seemed to want Alice to say something into her purple microphone.

Exersaucer

Louis enjoys the exersaucer at day care so Matt suggested we get one for home. I was hesitant because they are so big and ugly. After hearing about Lindsey and Bryan’s success in finding a stroller on craigslist, I decided to try using craigslist to get an exersaucer. I saw that someone in our neighborhood had one for sale for cheap and within the hour Louis had an exersaucer.  At such a low price it will be easy to part with it once Louis is too big and strong for it.

Spring Break

The Hicks family came down to D.C. for spring break. We visited the National Zoo on Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day. Because it was a holiday and beautiful weather, the zoo was packed but we had a great time despite the crowds.  Below is Matt with Louis and Lindsey carrying Alice.

Because of the warm winter and early spring the cherry blossoms have come early this year. This picture was taken on a neighborhood street near the zoo.

On Sunday we all went to Great Falls National Park. When we arrived we had a picnic lunch that Lindsey and Bryan had prepared. It was a little cloudy but when we started to walk around and see the falls it became very sunny.  Don't worry -- Louis was wearing a hat the whole time except for this picture.

More pictures from the weekend are posted on Hicks Happenings. Here are two that were taken by Lindsey with her camera.

Sports Fan

For Matt’s birthday Grandma Laurie and Grandpa Brian joined us in D.C. for a basketball game. We brought head phones for Louis in case it was too loud for him, but he didn’t mind the noise. In fact, he seemed to really enjoy watching the lights and big screens.

Sophie

Louis’s hand-eye coordination has improved enough that now he can grab a toy and put it in his mouth. His current favorite is Sophie the Giraffe because it’s soft enough for him to gnaw on. When he gets bored of the toy or it slips out of his hand he resorts to chewing on his fingers.
